Frequently Asked Questions [FAQs]

What is Race to Respond?
In 2002, five dedicated IOCC supporters led by Jim Angelus made history by riding their bikes cross country to raise awareness and funds for IOCC's worldwide humanitarian work. In honor of IOCC's 20th Anniversary, Jim, along with two other cyclists rode 3,000 in 2012 to once again support the lives of people suffering from way, poverty, and natural disasters around the world.

Now, Race to Respond is a program that everyone can participate in! We invite you to become part of TEAM IOCC for any competition you may be participating in. Race to Respond demonstrates how the efforts of a few individuals can make a world of difference!

If I can't participate in the Baltimore Running Festival, can I still participate in my hometown?

Yes! You can join TEAM IOCC and fundraise while participating in any athletic event. We will help you get started by creating your own fundraising page, and you will be eligible for all TEAM IOCC fundraising incentives.

Why Baltimore?

Baltimore is the home of our International Orthodox Christian Charities headquarters. We thought it would be a great way for our local community, churches, and staff to support our local community!

Are you an official partner charity of the Baltimore Running Festival?

TEAM IOCC will be participating as an unofficial charity team. If there is more interest (we need a minimum of 50 participants) we will consider becoming an official charity sponsor. For more information about the Baltimore Running Festival, please visit www.thebaltimoremarathon.com

Can I still receive a Team IOCC t-shirt if I'm not participating?

Yes, please contact our office for more details!
