Health Programs: A Core Part of Our Work in Ethiopia

Kemel has been living with podoconiosis since she was 14. Podo is a form of elephantiasis (leg swelling) triggered by an abnormal reaction to irritant mineral particles found in volcanic soils. People who live and work barefoot in silica-rich soils are at high risk. It wasn't until her sister told her about an IOCC-supported clinic that Kemel learned there was a way to treat the illness and drastically reduce her pain.

Kemel's story is just one example of the impact IOCC's health programs can have.

And health programming is just one of the ways your gifts reach people in need around the world.

This World Health Day, please consider helping IOCC reach even more of those facing all kinds of hardship, both overseas and right here in the United States.
